[Awards/Tags] — PokemonGO Book Tag

Awards/Tags is the tagline to store random posts that don’t really belong elsewhere. They may involve tags, awards, challenges, and other book blogging nonsense.

Pokemon GO Book Tag

If I’m being completely honest, I play this game by proxy of other people as I have the most basic of basic phone plans (which means no data lololol).

Thanks for tagging me: Aentee @ Read At Midnight, Lois @ My Midnight Musing, Jesse @ Books at Dawn

If I were to look back to the beginning of time, that book would actually be a manga and that would probably be Naruto or Bleach but because this is book-centric, I’ll go with my standard The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

pokemon-tag02pikachu

Poooooonyboooooooooooy. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. And maybe in like 10 years when we all become ancient: Harry Potter.

pokemon-tag-03-zubat

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas is the reincarnate of Zubat (or Rattata).

pokemon-tag-04-ditto

I’m currently reading The Novice by Taran Matharu and it’s basically Pokemon meets Harry Potter meets Warcraft/Lord of the Rings and it is VERY evident but I’m still enjoying myself? What does that say about me omg.

pokemon-tag-05-snorlax

STORMLIGHT FUCKING ARCHIVE by Brandon Sanderson. How the fuck is this going to be an intended 10,000 page (ish) series?

pokemon-tag06-gengar

No book has kept me up at night (either due to being scary or because I had to keep reading). I love sleep and sleep loves me.

pokemon-tag07-nidokingqueen

This changes with the shift of the winds. My favourite relationships are those that aren’t actually ships.

Kell + his Coat (A Darker Shade of Magic by Victoria Schwab)

Todd + Manchee (Dog) (Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness)

Christopher + Bridget (Pigeon) (The Blackthorn Key by Kevin Sands)

Kaz + His Walking Stick (Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo)

pokemon-tag08-rapidash

Either any contemporary  romance (usually) or those cat-and-mouse dystopian stories where the protagonist is running from someone. Hopefully that makes sense, otherwise just think of the premise of Glass Sword by Victoria Aveyard (sans Mare being annoying AF), Knife of Never Letting Go, Shadow and Bone by Leigh BarudgoHalf a King by Joe Abercrombie etc.

pokemon-tag09-eevee

I’m actually of the team that series should have some semblance of a definitive ending though. But why does like the duologies and series (4+) are becoming more of a thing and stretching one idea for another 18731827312837 pages.

pokemon-tag10-egg

There are a lot of debuts I’ve yet to read for this year but it’s a toss-up between Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter and Ever the Hunted by Erin Summerill.

pokemon-tag11-lure-module

PATRICK NESS. (But you already knew that.)

pokemon-tag12-legendary

Red Rising by Pierce Brown. I did start it but other commitments came up. One day I hope to binge it all seeing as how it’s just chilling on my drawer. But I think part of the hype comes from Pierce being a good looking dude; definite Man Crush Monday material for sure.

pokemon-tag13-server-down

Aside from books with answers that I require: A Conjuring of Light (Schwab) and Crooked Kingdom (Bardugo), to piggyback from the autobuy author question, Patrick Ness’ new book “Release” is much needed yesterday.

pokemon-tag14-magikarp

If you told me that Historical Fiction was the genre that held my favourite read last year (re: The Blackthorn Key by Kevin Sands), I would have told you to shut the front door. I didn’t even actively request the ARC. It was seriously from an extra pile at the blogger event I attended…and I picked up a copy and was blown away. Dynamic pacing. Bromance. Pigeon feels. Explosions. Mystery and intrigue. Middle Grade is slowly winning me over.

pokemon-tag15mew-mewtwo

First edition Hardcovers for Ness’ books; including the entire Chaos Walking trilogy and The Crash of Hennington.

  1. I’ve also bought The Novice recently. I read a couple of chapters when it was just a wattpad story but I’m excited to read the full version. Can’t wait to hear your full thoughts on it!

Also, thanks for tagging me! (Haven’t played pokemon go yet – sadly my phone is too old to download it 😩)

  2. Sigh, I don’t feel worthy enough to complete this tag since I’ve seen like only one Pokemon movie. Plus, I don’t know any of these pokemon. But I do have Pikachu saying, um, “pikachu” as my ringtone (it’s been so for many years now for some reason). Close enough. XD

  3. This tag is incredible, and does throw up some amazing responses.
I’m the same about sleep; nothing, or nobody, is going to stop me from crawling to bed at 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

I’m also planning on binging Red Rising soon; I’ve heard only good things!

  4. Glad to know I’m not the only one not jumping on the Throne of Glass bandwagon. I can’t be doing with all the shipper wars and character assassinations I’m told to expect. Besides, there are plenty of assassin based books coming out now so I’ve got plenty of other options to chose from. 😛

I am also with you on your Eevee answer. I’m not the biggest fan of all these spin-offs that are coming out. Sometimes less is more, especially when we’ve already explored most of the world they created.

In terms of your ships, I have a few corrections to make.

Kell + Lila = OTP (If you make me a copy, I’ll let you have the original coat)

    Kaz + Inej = OTP ❤
