Initial Thoughts:

Slow reading does not bode well for the vast number of series I’ve yet to start despite even owning some of them. I’ve only listed series that I’ve given thought to reading, not those that I probably won’t ever touch (e.g. ASOIAF, Harry Potter, Narnia)

This list focuses on finished series; otherwise, I could have totally included picks like Throne of Glass and Red Rising or something.

Characters I Didn’t Click With


Initial Thoughts:

The defining characteristics for characters to be “click”-worthy generally involve their presence to make me empathize with their conflict and connect with them on their journey. I don’t have to necessarily enjoy how they act but it’s more asking yourself “is there a sense of coldness or feeling of being in arms-reach to the character” that’s on display here for me to not feel fully invested in their dilemmas.

I will speak of this from two fronts: books and films, as I do, with unpopular opinions abound.

Hello you, welcome to Bromance in Fiction 101. If you turn to page 3 of your syllabus, I’ll go through some of the titles we’ll be covering this term.

Though you’re probably wondering: how does one teach Bromance 101? A very good question Jimmy Bob–you see…I have no idea except for the necessity of a fleshed out and invigorating friendship. Plus, I am just full of ridiculousness so there’s that to look forward to in the semester.
