Other Feels:

Television (Not a full list of what I watch):

If you love to talk television, hit me up on Twitter and we can experience the feels together! Only shows I watched this month are included.

Big Brother Canada S5: As much as my favourites are still in it (Will, Paras, Erica, and Johnny), my god is this suddenly boring now.

Champions: Love me some Mindy Kaling.

Deception S1: The lead looks like Pierce Brown…?

For The People S1: I am legal show trash.

How To Get Away With Murder S4: Good resolutions being brought forward with stellar monologues from Viola Davis. Also: “that kid” at the end is an interesting avenue into next season.

Rise S1: Dare I say this is better than Glee? Maybe.

Suits S7: I suddenly really dislike this show and its leniency to the in-office drama. It’s far too much.

The Good Doctor: While I love Highmore and his acting remains impeccable, there’s a lack of excitement in writing that’s not being delivered for me right now. I’m in favour of The Resident, maybe.

The Resident S1: I love my residents

Films:

Annihilation: Trippy, eerie, and a thinker.

Pitch Perfect 3: All I want is an Anna Kendrick cover of Christina Perri’s Human.

Thor: Ragnarok: I have not seen ANY Thor films and ultimately decided to watch this to gain perspective as to where Thor was in relation to everything else re: Avengers. It was surprisingly humorous.

Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa): I really dug this film, it’s animation and story direction were exceptional and it took an unexpected twist that I was thankful for. Honestly, if you haven’t seen a Japanese animated film before, this is one you should give a try.

Music:

(Maroon bolded names link to the track for easy peasy listening)

EDM/Pop:

Nil: This section will be nil to focus on below but I can tell you it’s been a lot of Zayn.

Eurovision 2018:

It’s that time of year again! Here are some faves of this year’s ESC:

All 43 Songs Recap: Check this link out to watch all the participating countries. Otherwise, my favourites (so far) are below.

Spain: This duet makes me smile. Lyrical, lush, and has a tenderness to it (even if I don’t know wtf is being sung). 10/10 would want this ship to win.

Ireland: Will this song win? Don’t think so, but hear me out: imagine Simon Spier and Bram Greenfeld dancing around the street all giddy. Bam.

Israel: A bop. Popularity wise, it’s a shoe-in to win. It gives me 2NE1 kpop vibes (if that makes sense).

Estonia: Definitely one of the strongest voices this year. Operatic. Power. Dazzling effects with the dress. Whistle tones!

Czech Republic: This song/performance has that quality that can make a compelling run, but I think it’s missing something.

Germany: Okay hear me out: German Ed Sheeran.

Afterthoughts:

Life has been solid and I hope your days have been filled with all the highs too! The weather’s a bit of a doozy though but I’m also okay for it because winter. And if there’s any better moment this month of March, it’s being in the presence of greatness of Canadian Ice Dancers Virtue/Moir.

Cheers,
Joey

  1. I am LIVING for the Good Doctor. I just watched the entire first season over the last week and a half. I am always in tears at the end of almost every episode, especially that finale. Andy often cries too, LMAO. I love Highmore though. I loved him in Bates Motel too. YOUR NAME!!! Ahhhhh, that movie was so damn good. I still think about it often.

    1. Yes, I cry a lot during that show too LOL. The most memorable crying scene was when he hit Glassman in the face because he wanted to help him with finding a support person. That, and maybe Murphy trying to find a cure at the end of the season. Heartbreaking, and I’m excited to hear that Andy likes it too!

      1. The last scene in the finale when he tells Glassman that he loves him more….I completely lost it. Like an insane amount of crying. And I kid you not, I cry/get teary eyed every single time I think about that scene. And I think about it at least a couple times a day since Tuesday (when I watched it). LOL. Also in that same episode when he actually hugged Glassman. OMG…dead. Because he hated being touched.

  2. YOUR NAME!!! I loved that one so, so much – I actually watched it without expecting anything, a friend just suggested that we do and damn, I don’t regret it at all, I found it really sweet and brilliant and the twiiiiiiiiiiiiist. So glad you watched it as well 🙂
    Hope you’ll have a fantastic April! 🙂 x

  3. I watched The Good Doctor with plans to be offended by it. My brother is on the spectrum and the whole autistic genius stereotype annoys me.

I got super into the show. I kind of hate myself for it. How many times can they kill his brother?!

  4. Such cool graphics! I am interested to see what will happen at the Eurovision. Being from Lisbon, Portugal makes it even more exciting ahah I’m sure we won’t take the prize again this year, but it will be interesting nonetheless 🌞

    1. I can’t take credit for all the graphical design! Retro banner background is a stock photo but I did add the text overlay haha.

I’m really excited for Eurovision. Gotta go listen to what Portugal’s song is as I forgot (but last year’s song was really tender and sweet and you could tell it was all from the heart!).

  5. YAY! I am so glad you are watching Champions too. It’s like a mini Mindy Project reunion. Also, Rise is DEFINITELY better than Glee. You dare say it!!
I am personally offended that Austria is not on your Eurovision faves list so far, but I will give you points for Germany instead. Michael is really cool.

      1. It does need more Mindy, I agree! But whaaaaat? Silly Matthew is the sweetest haha

We didn’t even get to decide on our Eurovision song this year. They just announced it one day and no one even knew the guy hahaha but I like the song, although I will concede to it not being necessarily Eurovision-special.

  6. I’ve just realised something. I’m actually going to be in Canada for Eurovision this year! I never like the UK’s song pick and I always go in with very low expectations. Definitely getting some Sheeran vibes from the German entry though. Right now I like it, but I’ll probably get bored of it.
