The Thinker Awards – Best in 2017 Fiction

Thinker Awards is posted under the umbrella of Top Ten Tuesday, an original weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and it’s yearly prompt of “favourite books of x year”.

The Thinker Awards:
Best in 2017 Fiction

Initial Thoughts:

Welcome to this year’s installment of the Thinker Awards, a yearly book awards ceremony hosted here on my blog showcasing the best of the best in fiction experienced during 2017. The esteemed panelists joining me in this year’s celebration are contributors and friends of mine from the YA community –

 2017 Thinker Award Panelists:

Sarah (at) The Book Traveler
J. M. (at) Book Freak Revelations
Fadwa (at) Word Wonders
Mishma (at) Chasing Faerytales
Val (at) The Innocent Smiley
Joey (at) Thoughts and Afterthoughts

The only rules I gave my panelists is that their choices had to have been experienced and/or read for the first time in 2017 (no re-reads), so winners not exclusive to 2017 releases only even if “best of 2017 fiction” is used.

But I’d like to hear from you! Which book would you give the award of “Best Overall Book of 2017“?

Happy scrolling!

  1. One thing’s for sure: my TBR will pile up from all of the amazing books released this 2017. I love the titles the panel has voted for each category, and I truly agree with the ones that I read this year. But oh there are still so many more. Really got me ‘thinking’. 😉

  2. This is such a great post! I love seeing different people’s answers to the same questions.

Also, love all the Nic Stone love going on 🙂

    Cheers! And Happy New Year!

  3. LOL this list is way too long for me to go individually but I LOVED seeing repeat books, and people who had the same answers! Like THUG (YES YES) and A Gentleman’s Guide (also YES).

This was very fun. Also how City of Brass won in many of Fadwa’s categories bc HELLO THAT IS AN AMAZING AND ASTONISHING BOOK. I also still need to read Jonny Sun’s book.

  4. I’ve heard so many praises for Love Hate and Other Filters and Starfish, I’m definitely putting them on my list to read! GODSGRAVE was so freaking good and I adored Batman: Nightwalker and Genie Lo of course.

Okay, so it sounds like I need to read Gentlemen’s Guide to Virtue. JOEY DID YOU PICK PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ THAT? lol
