From The Mancave is the working title tagline to connect readers to book-related swag, giveaways, and free multimedia content from me to you. Don’t judge me too harshly for the name as I too am laughing at my own sanity for being unable to think of anything else. And I don’t mean to offend anyone with the title.

Book Title: Legion: Skin Deep (Short Story, Legion, #2)
Author: Brandon Sanderson
Duration: 4 hrs and 23 mins
Narrator: Oliver Wyman
Release Date: Nov 24, 2014
Stephen Leeds, AKA “Legion,” is a man whose unique mental condition allows him to generate a multitude of personae: hallucinatory entities with a wide variety of personal characteristics and a vast array of highly specialized skills. As the new story begins, Leeds and his “aspects” are hired by I3 (Innovative Information Incorporated) to recover a corpse stolen from the local morgue. But there’s a catch. The corpse is that of a pioneer in the field of experimental biotechnology, a man whose work concerned the use of the human body as a massive storage device. He may have embedded something in the cells of his now dead body. And that something might be dangerous…
What follows is a visionary thriller about the potential uses of technology, the mysteries of the human personality, and the ancient human need to believe that death is not the end. Legion: Skin Deep is speculative fiction at it most highly developed. It reaffirms Sanderson’s place as one of contemporary fiction’s most intelligent—and unpredictable—voices.
(re: Audible @ Legion #2 by Brandon Sanderson)
This is a companion post to my recent review of Sanderson’s first Legion short story; [which you can peruse at this link]. I expedited reading Legion for stamp of approval reasons; so I wasn’t endorsing something blindly. I’ve heard great things of Oliver Wyman’s narrating from other reviewers on Goodreads and from what I’ve heard, he makes a good Stephen Leeds! Not gonna lie though, it’s probably going to be pretty wicked ride of a listen (or reading experience if you’re thinking of a text copy instead). And considering the length is basically double what the first Legion short story was, boy of boy, I’m sure everyone will be happy to spend more time with our favourite Legion!
Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored post despite being contacted by Audible to spread the word of the free audiobook download. I don’t have regional access to acquire said audiobook but that doesn’t mean all of you U.S. readers shouldn’t! Plus, it’s Sanderson, c’mon now.
