Hello readers of the world (again)!
It’s officially two weeks until Inspire! Toronto International Book Fair running from November 13-16, 2014. Remember, if you need a vacation destination, perhaps this is a good excuse to come visit Toronto, Canada! Below, I’ll be shedding some light on information which was recently made available regarding author signings. I mean, c’mon, authors are rockstar’s to readers and signatures are basically our form of crack. Oh…wait, just me? I hope not.
This isn’t a sponsored post. I’m not making any of the rules listed below, just paraphrasing key details (and we all know how unreliable I am). So for full details on author signings, you can click on this link to read all about it.
AT THE INSPIRE! MAIN STAGE
Step-by-step instructions on attaining that signature:
- Head over to the Inspire! Main Stage before the presentation begins. (You might want to get there early!)
- Receive a wristband following the purchase of a presenter’s new or old books. (There are limited quantities of these bands!)
- Following the presentation on the Inspire! Main Stage, take your wristband and proof of purchase to the signing area.
- Achievement unlocked: signature obtained!
- Rinse and repeat for all your favourite authors.
Important details:
– Maximum of three (3) books signed.
– You must purchase the book(s) at the Inspire! Main Stage Bookselling Area.
– Outside books are not permitted, including but not limited to: books purchased at the exhibitor booths or brought from home.
– Other paraphernalia will not be signed.
– Posed photographs not allowed.

- Head over to the stage presentation of your choosing.
(You may want to get there early!) - Receive a hand-stamp following the purchase of a presenter’s new or older (There are limited quantities of these!)
- Following the presentation, head over to the signing area with your hand-stamp and proof-of-purchase.
- Achievement unlocked: signature obtained!
- Rinse and repeat for any stage you attend.
Important details:
– Maximum of three (3) books purchased & signed at each stage.
– You must purchase the book(s) at the programmed stages.
– Outside books are not permitted, including but not limited to: books purchased at the exhibitor booths or brought from home.
– Other paraphernalia will not be signed.
– Posed photographs not allowed.
III. AT THE EXHIBITOR BOOTHS
There will be hundreds of exhibitors at the marketplace with their own policies on purchasing and signing books. You might want to peruse their websites for more details!
Thoughts!
I’m still not sure which panels I’ll be moseying on into. Although, I’m going to try my best at snagging a signed copy of a recently released book that’s blowing up twitter for a giveaway. No guarantees though. So if I find out more news to share, I’ll definitely let you all know!
