Miscellaneous is the tagline to store my random posts that don’t really belong elsewhere. It’s more for consistency sake so I can have an itty-bitty picture to follow suit with the post.
The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, Aug 18th and runs through Sunday, Aug 24th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 11 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.
Initial Thoughts:
This post is devoted to my on-going updates to track my progress during the read-a-thon going forward.
Read-a-thon Goals: Two books to be determined as I go because I really don’t know what I’m reading (I’m so wishy-washy).
Books TBR
The Young World
Author: Chris Weitz
Number of Pages: 384
Reason for selection:
I started reading this before the read-a-thon started so I’ll just finish it. It is indeed an ARC that I have yet to review lolololol.
Catch a Falling Star
Author: Christine M. Butler
Number of Pages: 232
Reason for selection:
I won this in a Goodreads giveaway a while back and I haven’t gotten a chance to read it. My TBR is so malleable but now I will get around to this!
Evidence of Things Not Seen
Author: Lindsay Lane
Number of Pages: 224
Reason for selection:
So I went to update my NetGalley account with a review, and then I saw this book and was like “oh, what is this!?” and then I read the first chapter, and then the next. Oops.
The Ask and The Answer
Author: Patrick Ness
Number of Pages: 552
Reason for selection:
…okay, I’ll be honest: I needed a physical book to bring on commute on saturdays. And I just picked this up immediately and ran out. (Oops, sorry Catch A Falling Star).

Well, I did sort of finish two novels…ish. Oh well 😀 ~500 pages is still a lot more than my default 0~200 pages per week. I think I’ll make it my goal next round of Bout to find time to partake in challenges and the like.
I also won Catch A Falling Star on goodreads and read it a few months ago. It was interesting and I would love to hear what you think about it.

Haha, glad to hear you enjoyed it (well, assuming interesting is enjoyable!)

Haha I mean it wasn’t the best book out there, but it was unique. It did have some things that annoyed me though, but overall it was an enjoyable read.

Oh goodness, I am not doing so well for this read-a-thon -.-‘ Reading slowed down because I marathoned the PJ series last week, and for what I’ve read this week, isn’t even on my log page yet… SOOOOO BAD!!! LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!

You should have just waited to binge read PJ this week since you read like 100 of them in like 3 days. YOU STILL GOT TIME TO PARTICIPATE, NO PROBLEM.
