Other Feels:

Television (Not a full list of what I watch):

If you love to talk television, hit me up on Twitter and we can experience the feels together!

Shows I Am Perpetually Behind On: Arrow, The Flash, Agents of Shield, TVD, The Blacklist S3, Quantico S2, Luke Cage S1, Mr. Robot S2, Class S1

How To Get Away With Murder S3: That was the most anti-climatic reveal ever. Plus, why is it that Frank is better in court than Bonnie…

Legion S1: *cough*

Powerless S1: Couldn’t get past the pilot episode. Continue or nah?

Reign S4: I attempted to watch episode 1 of the latest season and it was a cringe-fest. I don’t even know why as I did enjoy the first two seasons at the least.

Riverdale S1: This is a fun show. Well played CW Network.

Suits S6: I pretend the season finale doesn’t exist…it technically won’t be over.

The 100 S3: *Has not caught up because he remains confused as to where Season 2 left off*

The Bachelor S21: Last month I said “Top three: Vanessa, Raven, Rachel (sans the fact that she’s now the Bachelorette)” OH LOOK I AM A WIZARD.

The Magicians S2: Hiiiiiiiiiilarious.

The Mindy Project S5: Jokes feel more forced than normal and I am not digging it.

Films:

Nightcrawler: This was a re-watch as I was finding films to recommend a co-worker. This is a film that doesn’t get enough credit, imo.

Before I Fall: Attended a screening for this film based on Lauren Oliver’s novel of the same name. The writing is so thin with underdeveloped characters and lacking motives that truly dilute the power and message this story tries to convey. I will actually fully review this film in due time.

Music:

(Maroon bolded names link to the track for easy peasy listening)

EDM/Pop:

Dean Lewis – Waves: This song appears in Riverdale episode 4 re: Jughead end of episode scene. My heart.

The Chainsmokers – Something Like This (feat. Coldplay)I am trash for this song.

Illenium – Fractures (feat. Nevve): Mellow.

Ed Sheeran – Shape of You: This Walk off the Earth cover. Holy shit. If there’s one song you listen to of the above, dis one so rad as hell.

Afterthoughts:

Just a busy work month that killed most of my blogging time. But, on that note, I also read two great books so I’ll take that trade off.

Cheers,
Joey

  1. My two cents about Powerless: It’s a fun enough show for someone who’s not super immersed in superhero comics (i.e. watches the movies/shows, but doesn’t read the comics). I particularly love Danny Pudi but that could purely be because of his Abed days on Community. At this point, my main beef with the show is that episodes don’t seem connected at all–there’s no true underlying storyline. But I still find it fun to watch.

    1. Yeah, when I first heard of Powerless, they were definitely at a different agency than what they do now (granted, I haven’t seen anymore episodes after the pilot). And I do agree that it can feel a bit like a lost cause in plotting. Maybe that’s the point though? I don’t know. I kind of wish it had somewhere to go (at least for the protagonist).

  2. I think the system of Riverdale and that Chainsmokers and Coldplay collab ate me alive and practically kept me sane in February. At least you still had time for some other stuff, Joey. 😀 (- says the girl who barely read anything in February)

Here’s to hoping that March is slightly better. 😊

  3. I’m currently obsessed with The Bachelor, but I think this is the first time I’ve followed the US one. Such a guilty pleasure and 100% in love with Rachel. Glad we finally have a more diverse lead, at least.

And Walk off the Earth! I didn’t know they’ve done a Shape of You cover but I really should. My favourite cover of theirs will probably always be Gotye’s, though. 😛

    Have a wonderful March, Joey!

    1. Have you also seen the Australian Bachelor/ette? Just curious. And if you have, are you in preference to your version or the American one?

Yessss, I’m very excited to see Rachel’s journey. It’s been a long time coming for this franchise to push for diverse leads.

      1. I have! The last season of Bachelor AU is what got me into the franchise, actually. I watched it live and followed it on Twitter and it just sucked me right in. I definitely prefer the Aus version compared to the American version – it feels more “genuine” and it’s much less dramatic, and the editing is done more… elegantly? I definitely recommend watching them if you’re interested – the last Bachelorette in particular I think is incredibly eloquent so she’s had a pretty good season (though I’m heartbroken over the runner-up smh).

        1. Haha, the eloquence of the lead sounds similar to the first Canadian Bachelorette franchise last year. Everyone was just…very nice and mellow and seemed less attention seeking — and real? — than stock “types” who go on these shows. But alas, the one whom I wanted to win didn’t win. I guess that’s how it is with these shows at least…our faves rarely win!

          1. I’ve never really followed the US versions, but the Aus ones are DEFINITELY edited for major, major heartbreak. 😛

I’ve seen some scenes/episodes from the Canadian Bachelorette too and really like the lead and the contestants! I wanted Mikhel to win, haha.
