Miscellaneous:

[Book Events]:  Raincoast Teens Read Preview (2017 Winter/Spring)

Other Feels:

Television (Not a full list of what I watch):

(If you love to talk television, hit me up on Twitter and we can share feels together!)

Big Brother US18: Though I gave up on this season, I heard the results annnnnnnd nope. Not saying the winner didn’t deserve it but that was a $450k decision from 2nd places position.

Designated Survivor S1: I am honestly intrigued by this premise because I never knew this thing actually happens. For those who don’t know, a Designated Survivor is someone who sits out during a large scale event when the President etc. gather together in one place. And in the event of a terrible event, that DS would become the acting President.

How To Get Away With Murder S3: Hmmm.

Mr. Robot S2: …upon writing this post I realized I haven’t even watched the last two episodes of this season.

Sing It On S2: Their 3rd place set is fire. Link to Youtube here.

Suits S5: BITTERSWEET.

The Bachelorette Canada S1: CANADIANS ARE SO NICE. WE ARE SO NICE.

The Blacklist S3: I am partial to not having the spin-off happen so my LizKeen can stay together…

The Good Place S1: If I’m being honest, I’m trying to not take this show very seriously (like how I was with Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) but I’m also… …imagine watching this show with a resting bitch face. That’s me.

The Night Of: This 8 episode show is incredibly nuanced. Really good.

Quantico S2: I AM STILL SO ANGRY THEY AXED MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER FROM S1. But really, this schooling format again for Season 2?

Westworld S1: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ …

Younger S3: Who would have known this show would have so many publishing references that I could actually understand? I binged the first two seasons easy. All readers/bloggers should watch this full stop.

Films:

X-Men: Apocalypse: Nothing special. I was hoping Jubilee would have a greater role.

The Final Girls: Along the lines of Cabin in the Woods, this film smartly deconstructs the horror tropes we love so much.

A Monster Calls: A very faithful adaptation.

Music:

(Maroon bolded names link to the track for easy peasy listening)

EDM/Pop:

Tritonal – Painting With Dreams (Nothing Like Them) (feat. Shy Martin)

The Chainsmokers – All We Know (feat. Phoebe Ryan)

I don’t that many new music as I’ve been listening to oldies.

Afterthoughts:

I am going to write this month off as being total shit.

Cheers,
Joey

  1. Awww…sorry you didn’t have a great month. I didn’t have a great month either, when it came to reading. I was sure that September was going to be the month where I would have gotten some serious reading done!

  2. I feel like this month hasn’t been terrible for you in terms of reading? Like, there were more terrible months. But maybe I’m just being overly positive.

Also I feel like I gotta somehow try watching The Bachelorette Canada! The Aussie’s Bachelorette is on its second season now and I’m surprisingly enjoying it, though it’s not crazy addictive (yet…?). And I’d like to see more nice people on screen. 😂

    1. Yeah I definitely had more reading done this month than usual so that’s good! But balance is key with reading/blogging I guess, at least for me, in order to find some semblance of the self implicated “success”.

I also like how you are familiar with my terrible months of blogging etc. You are the best LOL.

I didn’t know Aussie had their own Bachelorette! I might need to look into this as I feel like most non-USA shows of this type are just…better?

  3. I watched X-Men Apocalypse on the flight home and I was underwhelmed. I was so excited for this one as well because I loved the concept of the best of the mutants becoming the four horsemen. I also wanted Jubilee to have a bigger role and I’m gutted that she was sidelined.

I NEED TO CATCH UP ON MR. ROBOT.

      1. I feel like Paul deserved it way more than she did though! Everyone is dumb. I got the online BB for a day and then decided it was stupid. It was all live and annoying. I seen that they put episode one up. I’m assuming they are going to put one episode a week up. So maybe if I start seeing them add more episodes then I’ll watch it. I really have no time or desire to sit in front of live feeds all day every day just to watch it. I went an entire week and they didn’t put up a single episode and I assumed that it meant I had to watch it all live and I canceled my subscription after my free trial lol.
