[Toronto Bookmas 2015] — Event Recap

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of joining Patty @ Bookishwanderlovee and Amanda @ Brains Books and Brawn at hosting Jingle Books and MistleTOe: A Bookmas Gathering. It was a night of snackages, book talk, and shenanigans involving Patty’s cat Snowball.

Attendees brought snacks ranging from Lindt and Ferrero Rocher chocolate to Tiff @ MostlyYALit bringing a box of Popeyes chicken wings. Seriously. We didn’t even have to order pizza (the original intent) as there were many bite sized snacks to feed on.

Conversations ranged from the standard “what are you reading” to recent drama in the book community. I keep forgetting to take pictures of the events I go to!

There was also a book exchange where the original plan was to play White Elephant Gift Exchange/Yankee Swap where one person goes at a time and the preceding person can choose to swap with the people before them. Buuuut it was a collective decision to just exchange without the active swapping LOL.

It was an awesome time with people from the community even if this little group isn’t truly representative of the book community within the Greater Toronto Area. The event was a  last minute thing amidst exams and early Monday work.

If you’re from the GTA or Southern Ontario and you didn’t get an email invitation from me, I probably didn’t know you’re from the area and you should inform me (because the next bookish gathering will be in the works shortly…maybe).

And a photo of the gang, courtesy of Patty’s phone (I think this is the only picture we took LOL):

  1. It sounds and looks like you all had a grand time together! It’s wonderful that you have bloggers in your area who you can meet up with to chat about books. I must start digging to find people in MY area.

  2. This seems like a really fun party! 🙂 are you guys going to do it regularly from now on? I wish I live close enough to other bloggers to attend one.

How are you enjoying Truthwitch? 🙂

    1. Not sure about the regularity of events like these but with rarely anything that happens in Canada (at least in comparison to our American counterpart), it’s nice to have these kinds of things since it’s basically an extension of online chilling on Twitter etc.

And I’m reading Truthwitch pretty slowly but I’m enjoying it thus far!

  3. I’m glad you all had a wonderful time. It’s so nice that you guys were able to meet up and talk about all things bookish haha. I’d love to meet people from the blogging community and if i can’t find anyone in my general vicinity I’ll just have to hop on a plane and crash your next meet up. 😉
