Initial Thoughts:
As you may (or may not) know, I was a pretty sporadic reader until I started up this blog circa beginning of 2014. Most of what I read now are actually debuts; trying to find more auto-buy status authors. That being said, I actually do own multiple books for many authors. I just haven’t gotten to them because when I bought them initially I was like “yeah! gonna read this soon!” and mood was like “lolnope” and here we are today with this post.
Patrick Ness – 5
A Monster Calls, More Than This, Chaos Walking Trilogy (though, I have not read the novellas).
Brandon Sanderson – 4
Steelheart, Mitosis, Firefight, Legion
Veronica Roth – 3
Divergent Trilogy (note: I was fine with the ending)
Roald Dahl – 3
James and the Giant Peach, The BFG, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and a special shout-out to the Gremlins film
Margaret Atwood – 2
Handmaids Tale, Oryx and Crake (which I don’t even know why I didn’t continue reading since I did enjoy this book albeit it being my independent novel study in school paired with Ayn Rand’s Anthem. Wait, i know why, I was probably too busy playing Ragnarok, War3 (the original DOTA, yeah?), and Neopets or something…)
Suzanne Collins – 2
2/3 Hunger Games Trilogy; which I also watched Mockingjay: Part 1 before reading it. Oops?

Afterthoughts:
Maybe it’s the commitment to trilogies/series that’s like “omg so daunting” because I do like the idea of binge-watching television…but it’s definitely not the same as binge reading LOL. It’s funny because I encourage so many people to binge read but I don’t do it myself. Yikes–I’m such a hypocrite.

How funny, I made the exact same note about Divergent over at my TTT 🙂 Great list! I haven’t read near enough Neil Gaiman. I’ve only read The Graveyard Book which, of course, is fantastic.

I’m surprised 5 is your highest number! I thought you’d totally be a binge reader of authors. Lol. Points for Ness being at top though, naturally. I totally forgot to add him to my list. Dang!

A lot of people have low numbers, but somehow I read 20+ books from a few people- however it was when I was younger.
I’m also fine with the ending of Allegiant (:

Interesting to see someone who was chill with Allegiant. OMG HOW DID YOU LIKE THE MOVIE? ARE YOU EXCITED FOR NOVEMBER (assuming movies come out the same time in Canada)?!

Interesting to see a person who was okay with Allegiant’s ending! 🙂 I’ve been meaning to read more Patrick Ness books, I’ve read his CW trilogy but I have yet to read More Than This and A Monster Calls. Not sure which one to go for yet. Great list!

I’m having a case of deja vu. I thought I’ve done something similar last year. Any who, Patrick Ness’ writing is a bit out of my comprehension. When I grow up, I want to read his books. 🙂

Your top three are all authors I’ve been meaning to get to FOREVER. I did finally read a book by Patrick Ness recently and enjoyed it, so hopefully I can read more from him soon 🙂

I need to read more of Patrick Ness’s work. In fact I need to read ALL the books he’s published including the rest of the Chaos Walking trilogy. He’s fabulous.
I also want to check out The Fifth Wave. It sounds quite good.

I’m not big on binge reading either, but I do love to binge watch a TV show! Maybe it’s because reading is more active.
I’ve yet to read More Than This. Absolutely loved A Monster Calls, though.

I’ve read the same Roald Dahl’s that you have! Such an imagination. And I think by not binge reading authors you are diversifying your reading. Unlike some people. Ok, I’m talking about me and all my mysteries! 🙂

I need to check out more from Patrick Ness. I did read A Monster Calls and I loved it. I own More Than This by him, but haven’t gotten around to it yet, unfortunately. What did you think about his books? I’m also interested in checking out Brandon Sanderson. I’ve heard amazing things, especially about the Mistborn trilogy.

Binge reading can be quite hard though. Knowing that ‘oh, I have 4 more books to read in this series’ can be quite daunting. Great authors on this list though 🙂

I never finished Hunger Games and thanks to all the controversy with the Divergent series – I won’t ever be reading them, either. BUT, I AM going to read a Patrick Ness book. SOON. Very soon.

Your taste in authors are obviously flawless, some of my faves are up there! Patrick Ness, Brandon Sanderson, Roald Dahl, Neil Gaiman! Though obviously everyone who writes series have a distinct advantage, haha.

If you like Neil Gaiman you should try American Gods it’s my fave book by him. So well written and the weirdness of magic/living God’s is so well done.
