Miscellaneous is the tagline to store random posts that don’t really belong elsewhere. They may involve tags, awards, challenges, and other book blogging nonsense.
What’s Miscellaneous Today?
The Random Questions Tag
As you may have noticed, I’ve been swimming in tag/awards thingy-ma-jigs for three weeks now (there are so many to catch up on omg). But I owe it to those who tagged me to complete these and spread the bloggy love—so onward we go!
I was tagged by Elyssa @ Books and Iced Coffee—so thank you for this. I skimmed the questions and I didn’t find them to be that random (although that might be just a testament to all the baloney that goes inside my head).
Do you like blue cheese?
That’s like asking me if I enjoy rolling around in allergic reactions; a double whammy since me and penicillin are not bros and I see myself as a lactose intolerant being. So yes, I do enjoy blue cheese.
Do you own a gun?
I did own a pellet gun when I was younger. I have no clue where it is now. I also have no idea whether or not it was loaded when I last left it. Also fun fact: Legolas inspired me to purchase my own bow. I don’t know where that is either.
What flavour of Kool-Aid was your favourite?
“Free” was and is my favourite flavour.
Do you get nervous before a doctor’s appointment?
Maybe if blood work is involved…but I wouldn’t call it nervousness. I can’t imagine anyone preferring seeing blood. Or Needles. But let’s be honest: I will gladly let you drain as much of my O+ as needed…just punch me in the face and knock me out prior to. Don’t worry, I’ll sign the necessary paperwork and won’t sue.
What do you think of hot dogs?
I’m a burger kind of guy.
Favourite Christmas movie?
Uhhhhhhh—The Christmas Elves? It’s based off of Hans the Shoemaker. I watched this a lot as a child whenever it aired on the YTV channel (for all you Canadians).
What do you prefer to drink in the morning?
Depends on what’s in stock.
Can you do push ups?
Can YOU do push ups?
What’s your favourite piece of jewelry?
I don’t really accessorize but I guess charity/inspirational rubber bangles.
Do you have A.D.D.?
I don’t believe so but these questions make me feel like this tag does.
What’s your favourite shoe?
Since it is still relatively winter-ish, my Uggs (yes, it was a surprise to me too that Uggs has a line of boots for men).
Middle Name?
Jonathan. I don’t sound like a Jonathan.
Name 3 thoughts at this exact moment?
Name three thoughts at this exact moment.
Three thoughts—
Exact moment.
Name 3 drinks you regularly drink?
Whatever is within arms reach and is free (or costs the least). Unless I’m yoloing then it’s like whatever I’m feelin’.
Current worry?
Cravings for a Chipotle bowl with chips.
Current hate right now?
Hate is a strong word.
I hate this question for asking me to push negativity. Ziiiiiing.
Dum da dum dummmm, what is that?
A terrible plot twist [of a question].
How did you bring in the new year?
If anyone saw my tweet, I was trying to complete a Sudoku puzzle lolololol.
Where would you like to go?
Backpacking sounds pretty solid. Europe? Southeast Asia? Taking a selfie with a Quokka? Or maybe backpack-blog-hopping around the world to meet all you lovely thinkers—yo, that’d be sick.
Do you own slippers?
Barefoot all day—although those Minion ones…
What colour shirt are you wearing right now?
Black; like my soul.
Do you sleep on satin sheets?
I can sleep anywhere.
Can you whistle?
From what orifice do you inquire?
Favourite Colour?
Black (semantics of colour absence is not taken kindly here).
Would you be a pirate?
If the eternal debate is pirates versus ninjas…I’d be a ninja because I feel like I’d be able to parkour. And throw tiny objects with accuracy.
What song do you sing in the shower?
There are too many to name. Jason Mraz’ I Won’t Give Up is a solid tune. As is Let It Go. As is any Beyonce powerhouse of a belting tune. The faucet cries buckets of feels though. Every time.
What’s in your pocket right now?
I has no pockets—currently wearing sweats.
Last thing that made you laugh?
…
Best bed sheets as a child?
(Best…? Or do you mean favourite? How can a child ascertain “the best”?)But really: two sleep-ish related questions? Why is this questionnaire so interested in how I enjoy my sleep?
Do you love where you live?
Yeah, I love my igloos!
Does someone have a crush on you?
Geez, I hope not—even I get bored of me.
What’s your favourite candy?
Belgian seashell chocolates? Ferrero Rocher? Peach rings? Hi-Chew? Green Tea Kit Kats? Too many choices.
Favourite sports team?
Toronto Maple Leafs. I grew up playing hockey and attended their games even back in the old Maple Leaf Gardens. The nostalgia is real.
Name 3 10 people who will complete this?
I changed it to ten because I can. If I didn’t tag you and you found this an excellent time-killer then be my guest and complete this tag and link it up in the comments below!
(I sang the alphabet song like 3 times while compiling this list. Hah, now you are too. Maybe?)
Brandie @ Brandie is a Bookish Junkie
Courtney @ A Bibliophobic Tendencies
Erika @ Erika’s Book Ramblings
Jocelyn @ 52 Letters In The Alphabet
Rachel @ Confessions of a Book Geek
Shelumiel @ Bookish and Awesome
(So fail. There are more than ten…but none of you will have noticed it.)
Afterthoughts:
Well I hope your lives are better now that you have more random intel about me. This was written two weeks ago-ish so answers may be different from when you’re currently reading right now. (But I guess you wouldn’t really know the difference anyways.) #muchpostscheduling #wowtimetravel
Cheers,
Joey
I really enjoyed this! The Big Hero Six picture made me giggle for a while! And my brother’s name is Jonathan 🙂

I’m glad you had a few laughs with this post–especially re: Baymax–I was dying when I saw it haha. I’d love to see your answers to the sort-of randomness in these questions too!

Omg I remember doing these surveys over email for a while back in the day.

Seems like the Internet loves bringing back the retro things! (But I better stop your nostalgia there before we remind ourselves how ancient we are.)

Ha, you were so sarcastic. All the bed sheet questions, tho… ?

I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THIS SARCASM YOU SPEAK OF IS…
But yeah, I feel like these questions were bugged somehow…and now someone somewhere has the answers to the all-important satin bedsheets…

I read the first bit “what does it” in a normal voice and then suddenly my inner voice (or whatever you want to call it) changed “have in it’s pocketses” in his voice….WHAT IS THIS SORCERY YOU ARE DOING TO ME?!

As usual, your posts are so entertaining. Things I related to in your post – I’m allergic to penicillin, I love that Jason Mraz song, I can’t do a push up to save my life (although I’ve really been trying), and my soul must be black too, because I love black and wear it pretty much every other day.
Thanks for the tag! 🙂

Perhaps my new goal is to write something so bland that you do not find it entertaining!
I don’t even know what’ll happen if I ingest penicillin (although I’m kinda tempted to see what does happen). Black is the only colour that matters…except for when it’s super sunny outside (but even then I’d still wear it).

I can tell you what happens to me – my throat swells shut and I end up in the ER hooked to an IV, so DON’T RISK IT! 🙂

Omigod dude I totally agree with you about that nija vs pirate thingie. I think i can totally look kick ass awesome doing nija flip parkour (plus I’m 5 ft so I need it to reach the cookie jar) but then again i also think I can sing (it turns out my awe-striking voice is only unleashed in the shower. It’s a tragedy really). But since Captain Jack Sparrow I think pirates can be cool. So here’s what I’m thinking: kick ass pirate-nijas!!! It’ll be glorious! ( is asking to be able to do Jedi mind tricks asking to much?)

All I’ll say is that in another reality, Jedi ninja-pirates do exist…so you aren’t too far off!

Ahh, Belgian seashell chocolates are THE BEST…Guylians are the best brand, I reckon. Crunchies do come close though…
This post really made me smile, so thank you!

OMG YES GUYLIAN BRAND WAS EXACTLY THE BRAND I WAS IMAGINING WHEN I WROTE IT (although I’m unsure if there are other seashell chocolate brands. omg cravings.)
I loved getting those mini crunchies during halloween. Just the right amount of sponge toffee per chocolate ratio!
But let’s be honest: I wouldn’t come close to complaining if someone just handed me some default miscellaneous candy/chocolate. Free is free; free is good.
And I’m glad you enjoyed the read!
