[Miscellaneous] The Day That Was A Happy Blogi-thanks-ver-giving-sary…?

Miscellaneous is the tagline to store my random posts that don’t really belong elsewhere. It’s more for consistency sake so I can have an itty-bitty picture to follow suit with the post.

(Best of both worlds: turkey cake pops to celebrate the special day!)

Hey.

Yeah, you.

There’s no one behind—hey man I’m talking to you.

Don’t congratulate the kid, okay? He should be thanking you instead for having the resilience to put up with his insanity.

I don’t agree with half the things he says and he’ll probably ask some redonkulous question about life or something. You know how it is.

So in-case he doesn’t—thanks for being awesome. Not just as passing readers but as people. You’ve made the journey what it is and there’s something cool about that. But anyways, just humour him a bit. He’s sort of still figuring things out.

I mean, aren’t we all?

Thanks,
Joe

Hello to all you wonderful people!

What a super day! Who would have thought that a year has passed where nothing and everything happens! I did! (But not really!) Cheers for everyone! On top of it being American Thanksgiving, it’s also thoughts and afterthoughts one year anniversary! A blogithanksvergivingsary—what a bucket of cool beans!

So as thanks, I’ve dug up a book from the Mancave for you to win! It’s one signed Hardcover copy of Maggie Stiefvater’s “Blue Lily, Lily Blue” and it’s an international giveaway! Keep watch for a companion post on this shortly!

I hope you’re all excited as much as I was to get that book signed! There were swarms of fangirls with brewing excitement in line…and then little old me hahaha!

Cheers,
Jay

Only listen to one of us. The others aren’t to be trusted.

The first phase was a lot of trial and error; to discover what posts worked and how to go about them. The process is never final and so to further understand which paths I should continue walking, I’m asking that you comment and let me know what you enjoyed from reading this blog, what you want to see more of, or what you think could be done better—or just comment with anything!

As much as I’ve grown this blog, it wouldn’t have been possible without our interactions. Cheesy, I know. But topic tags like He Said, She Said and the various Think Aloud discussions, amongst others, were all spawned by discussions we’ve had through countless forums; curated to be something half-worthy of being talked about. So while it’s not an answer to life or anything, these moments shared across a variety of mediums were arenas to think, to question, and to reevaluate. The intent to this blog, or any blog actually, is that while the blog is the thought, you are the afterthought, and the conversation continues moving forward. But it works both ways and so this blog is wholly yours too—that much I do know—and it is that which I should thank you for.

I came across his journal the other day and aside from the empirical findings on future topics, there was this passage that I remember reading that best explains this dynamic.

We walk through these unwritten stories; inhaling, exhaling, and weaving in and out of moments we take for granted, moments that are the bulk of the journey itself. And that’s what I imagine success to be. Not the shout of happiness when we reach small pinnacles of triumph but simply acknowledging the unknowing pauses of time for what they are.”

And so we begin the second phase. Together.

Best,
Joseph

…uh, what just happened?

Joey

(I don’t know what happened up there. Literally just started mashing my keyboard and this was the result LOL. Also: I already celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving a month ago so the title is really just for quirks sake. As mentioned, there will be a companion post regarding the giveaway once I figure this system out! Thanks for everything thus far! Keep being super and keep being you!)
